It’s the 1590s, and struggling playwrights Nick and Nigel Bottom have a problem: no matter what they do, they just can’t compete with the outrageous popularity of William Shakespeare, the rock star of the Renaissance. Desperate for a hit that will put them on the map, Nick turns to a local soothsayer for a glimpse into the future of theatre. His prediction? The next big thing is a show with singing, dancing, and acting—all at the same time!

Determined to beat Shakespeare at his own game, the Bottom brothers set out to create the world’s first musical. But as their ambitious plans spiral into hilarious chaos, they discover that chasing fame and fortune may come at a cost—and that success means more than simply being the biggest name in town.

Packed with show-stopping song and dance numbers, outrageous comedy, and laugh-out-loud theatrical references, Something Rotten! is a riotous celebration of Broadway, brotherhood, and the wonderfully absurd world of show business.

You don’t have to be a Shakespeare scholar to love this musical—but you might never look at the Bard the same way again!

The Renaissance is about to get a Broadway makeover!
