“It’s not about getting over it. It’s about getting through it.”
Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire
Elmira Little Theatre’s upcoming production of Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire invites audiences into a universe of parallel worlds. Ostensibly the story of a family coping with profound loss, the play—directed by Mark Sardo—explores the space between what is and what might have been.
As with all of Lindsay-Abaire’s work, Rabbit Hole weaves laughter and tears together through sharp, compassionate dialogue, placing ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances. The result is a deeply human story that is both heartbreaking and unexpectedly hopeful.
Irrepressible Izzy arrives with joyful, life-changing news, but celebration proves difficult when her sister and brother-in-law, Becca and Howie, are still reeling from tragedy and divided over how to rebuild their lives. Their mother, Nat, carefully balances the emotional tightrope between her daughters’ very different realities, while teenager Jason searches for hope, forgiveness, and understanding.
Winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rabbit Hole features a talented cast of local actors: Roselynn Corrado, Stacey Weber, Camden Ayers, Amy Gilbert, and Sara Case
