A Christmas Visit To The
Golden Age Of Radio November 28 & 29, 2010 at 7:30pm Performed at Mandeville Hall, The Clemens Center, Elmira, NY For its 24th radio show production, ELT is presenting a special Christmas-theme show. The shows re-created this year include the classic crime show Dragnet and the well-remembered comedies Fibber McGee and Molly and My Friend Irma. The centerpiece of this year's production is a performance of Norman Corwin's The Plot to Overthrow Christmas. "It is a treat to perform The Plot to Overthrow Christmas," Yoggy enthused. "Norman Corwin was known as 'Radio's Poet Laureate' and celebrated his 100th birthday on May 3rd of this year. I have been in touch with him personally to get his permission to produce this script." This season's Visit to the Golden Age of Radio will end with a side-splitting rendition of Lady Huntington and the Twelve Days of Christmas performed by local celebrities Carl Proper and David Siskin. Gary Yoggy, Director, 607-962-5171 Judy Born, Producer, 607-733-4463
