production in observance of

World AIDS Day

Performed at Mandeville Hall, The Clemens Center, Elmira, NY

The program begins at 5:30pm in Wisner Park with a welcome from this year's Emcee, Elmira Little Theatre's Joe Edkin. A proclamation from Mayor Tonello will be read. Following the proclamation, candles will be lit and the names of area residents who were HIV-positive when they died will be read.

At 6:00, there will be a candlight march to the Clemens Center where warm beverages will be served. At 6:30, the program will move into Mandeville Hall for the presentation of the Community Award and the performance of All That He Was...

Book and lyrics for this production were written by Larry Johnson and the music was written by Cindy O'Connor. First performed at the Arena Theater at the California State University at Fullerton in 1992, the musical tells the story of how AIDS affects the friends and family of an HIV-positive man who recently died. It examines the fears, prejudices, and hopes of people affected by the disease.

All That He Was... features a cast of twelve local performers, including Doug Born, Holly Campbell, Dorita Fagan, Greg Fusare, Kathy Gill, Jose Gomez, Jerry Holleran, Steven Hovis, Felisha Noble, Jessica Ossiboff, Tyler Stephens, and Joshua Streeter. The production is produced by Judy Born, directed by Joe Edkin, and with musical direction and accompaniment is by Christine Gill. After the 90 minute performance, refreshments will be served in the Clemens Center lobby.

Due to limited seating, tickets will be required to attend the Mandeville Hall presentations.

Candles and tickets for the free performance of All That He Was... will be available at Wisner Park starting at 5:15pm on a one-per-person basis. Any tickets not claimed at the park will be made available at the Clemens Center on a on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations will not be accepted.

While all of the Chemung County Taskforce World AIDS Day events are free and open to the public, donations to the Taskforce will be gratefully accepted.
